Day 1 - Gr. 5

Day 1- Grade 5

Visual Puns

Have you ever seen a stick of butter fly? Or a“HOT”dog? How about fast food or Pie in the sky?

A Pun is a play on words, when words can have different meanings.  You may not see a stick of butter fly, but surely you have seen a butterfly.

Visual Pun: A drawing, cartoon, photograph, etc. depicting objects arranged so that the names of the objects or a description of their placement suggests a play on words.
Think of a visual pun, or if you are stuck, use one from the list below and draw it.  Make it as detailed as possible.  If you have crayons, markers or colored pencils be sure to add color.  Be creative and use your imagination.

If you decide to do your Art Blizzard Bag on your computer, just follow the steps listed at the beginning of the Blizzard Bag Blog. Be sure to scroll down the page.

Remember to rename your drawing. Use your own name and grade! Share with me on google drive, to mlemay@govwentworth.k12.nh.us
(The share button is at the top right of the screen.)

You may want to practice using the line tool first as it can be tricky. Try to remember what we did in steam class to create pictures.

  1. The assignment calls for one Visual Pun, but of course you may do more than one if you choose.
